What are Therapeutic Yoga Somatic Intensives?

Intensive Therapy is a powerful way to accelerate the healing that you would experience in a typical therapy session. Rather than going to counseling for  an hour session once a week, you would set aside a specific chunk of time- 4 or 6 hours for 1-2 days – for intensive therapeutic work. It is a concentrated way to get the power of somatic work without having time in between sessions. It’s an expansive opportunity to explore and process further and move forward more quickly.

Therapeutic yoga intensives are a transformative approach designed to help you understand and work with your body’s natural stress and regulation systems. Rooted in modern neuroscience, Polyvagal Theory, as well as indigenous wisdom, trauma-conscious yoga, and other somatic healing practices, therapeutic yoga intensives empower you with practical tools to support nervous system regulation, emotional resilience, and overall well-being.

Through this guided experience, you’ll learn how your nervous system responds to stress, how patterns of dysregulation develop, and, most importantly, how to shift those patterns. Whether you’re looking to manage anxiety, heal from trauma, or simply feel more grounded and connected, this integrative intensive offers a personalized, body-based path toward greater balance and vitality. You have everything you need already within you and we’ll work together to build the experience you need to walk away feeling confident in your wholeness.

How Can It Help?

Therapeutic yoga intensives work by teaching you how to work with your body rather than against it so you can better navigate overwhelm, emotional flooding, anxiety, and disconnection.

This approach gives you:

  • A deeper understanding of your nervous system — so you can recognize your patterns and responses with clarity, not judgment.

  • Practical tools to regulate and rebalance — like breathwork, movement, and awareness exercises that support real-time shifts in your state.

  • Increased capacity for resilience — so you can handle life’s ups and downs with more ease, presence, and confidence.

  • Support for healing past stress or trauma — by creating safety in the body and reconnecting with your inner resources.

This work is not about fixing what’s “wrong”, it’s about learning how to listen to your system, build safety from within, and access more calm, connection, and choice in daily life.

I specifically specialize in supporting:

  • Trauma survivors
  • Painful childhood experiences
  • Cycle breakers working to address generational trauma
  • Intense Feelers / those with Borderline Personality symptoms who want to increase distress tolerance and/or decrease self-defeating behaviors
  • Empaths / Highly Sensitive adults who want to process overwhelming or overstimulating experiences

What Do Intensive Sessions Look Like?

Our nervous systems are not one size fits all and neither is this approach. In my practice, I primarily utilize and integrate the following therapeutic modalities:

  • Ayurveda: Lifestyle & Nutrition for Regulation
  • Brainspotting
  • Chakra Psychology: Imbalances, Shadow Work
  • Mindfulness & Meditation
  • Polyvagal Theory & Practices
  • Protective Parts: Managers & Distractors
  • Somatic Movement
  • Yoga Nidra
  • Yoga Postures & Philosophy

Each Intensive is personalized to support your unique needs and goals. Prior to the Therapeutic Yoga Somatic Intensive, we meet for a 60-minute Pre-Intensive Interview to determine the goal of the intensive. We will look at what your life looks like now (your support system, stressors, ways you cope, and what you’d like to see improve or be different). I specialize in working with trauma survivors, cycle breakers, and individuals who experience intense emotions or identify as Highly Sensitive Persons (HSPs). Together, we’ll develop a flow that feels safe, empowering, and aligned with where you are in your journey. After the Intensive, we meet for a 60-minute Post-Intensive Interview to reflect on the elements that were most meaningful to you and how you want to infuse that into your life moving forward. We may also discuss whether additional intensive sessions or following up with individual therapy may be helpful for you.

How It Works

What Does a Therapeutic Yoga Somatic Intensive Include?

All Intensives include a 60-minute Pre & Post Intensive Interview. The cost and time commitment depend on the number of 4 or 6 hour Intensives you wish to book. Here’s an idea of how it might break down for you, keeping in mind that this is the cost WITHOUT any assistance from an insurance company. If you have insurance and an existing mental health diagnosis, insurance may reimburse for portions of the experience. And yes, you can always add an additional Intensive sessions at any time!
