Helping You Feel Seen, Heard, & Deeply Understood

Krystal Akin, Founder, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Level 2 Trauma-Conscious Yoga Method Facilitator, Certified Brainspotting Practitioner
Whether you’re choosing to work with me as your trauma therapist, your Brainspotting practitioner, and/or your yoga teacher, it is an honor and a joy in my life to do this work with you! I believe that everyone already has everything required for healing within themselves. I’m here to help create a safe container for that journey and to support you along your way toward living a more embodied life. To be “embodied” is to feel connected and at home in your body and to improve your ability to stay present with your thoughts, emotions, and sensations, even during the tough moments.
As a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC), an E-RYT 500 yoga teacher (and student of 20 years!), a mom of 2, and fellow trauma survivor, I specialize in supporting emerging and younger adults in learning to move through moments of intense emotion without hurting themselves or sabotaging their relationships. I help people learn how to reconnect and repair the mind-body connection so that they can live more fully in the present and experience more control over their emotions. Through a unique East meets West combination of talk therapy and somatic, body-based techniques, we will collaborate to create the treatment experience that meets your needs. I like to say that many therapies attempt to force clients to fit into their box and that I prefer to give you a box and we work together to fill your box with the methods and practices that resonate with you most.
During my career, I have worked in outpatient community mental health agencies, intensive outpatient and outpatient co-occurring treatment programs, partnered with Federal Way Public Schools and other local school districts, and I have worked in private practice since 2014. I am a passionate advocate for clients and enjoy holding space for the beautifully challenging work of reconnecting to and reintegrating with your Self.
I earned a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of North Texas’ Denton Campus in 2012 and have completed over 500 hours of teacher trainings through Yoga Alliance certified programs at Spira Power Yoga (West Seattle), My Vinyasa Practice, and Yoga Ed, as well as Level 1 & Level 2 certifications in the Trauma-Conscious Yoga Method. I hold a certificate in Ayurvedic Nutrition and studied with Hale Pule Yoga and Ayurveda. I’m also certified in Brainspotting and continue to pursue training in this incredible life changing technique.
Jillian Hove, Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate

Jillian comes to this work after seeing several family members and close friends struggle with mental illnesses. She decided to pursue her Masters in Counseling to help reduce the stigma about mental health and help others to build resiliency and coping skills. Her own experiences in therapy have been transformative and she hopes to help others have that same experience as they walk through their journey with her.
As a licensed mental health counselor associate (LMHCA), school counselor, yoga teacher, and mom of two, she specializes in working with teens, young adults, and caregivers. She believes that you have the answers within yourself and it is her job as your therapist to help you find those answers and give you the space to feel your feelings.
Jillian uses a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy to help guide individuals on their journey to healing while finding their most authentic selves. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Western Washington University in 2011 and her Masters in Counseling from University of San Diego in 2014. She is currently supervised for licensure by Melissa Glenn, LMHC.
In our practice, Jillian is able to work with clients using Premera Blue Cross insurance. She also accepts private pay, full fee service clients through her solo practice, Wild Flora Therapy
