Meet Krystal akin, lmhc, E-RYT, TCYM

You already have everything you need.

Are you looking for a counselor who meets you in your full humanity by showing up authentically in theirs?

You’re in the right place.

I know firsthand how exhausting it can feel to move through life feeling deeply, carrying the weight of past experiences, and wondering why it seems so hard to just feel okay. The fear of being too much and not enough can shape the way we see ourselves, our emotions, and our relationships.

For me, discovering yoga (and yes, a lot of therapy) was life-changing. It helped me understand my nervous system, reconnect with my body, and develop a different relationship with myself- one rooted in compassion, trust, and acceptance. I believe that same capacity for healing and connection lives in you, too.

My style

I believe that everything you need for healing is already inside you. I create a safe, supportive space where you can reconnect with that inner wisdom, explore what has shaped you, and move toward a more embodied way of living.

So what does it mean to live an embodied life? It means feeling connected and at home in your body. It means being able to stay present with your thoughts, feelings, and sensations, even when things feel difficult, rather than feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or like you have to fight against yourself.

I specialize in helping emerging and younger adults (ages 16-45ish) who feel deeply, experience intense emotions, or are navigating the impact of trauma learn to move through life with more self-trust and compassion. Together, we’ll work on reconnecting your mind and body, understanding your patterns, and creating more choice in how you respond to yourself, your emotions, and your relationships.

I’m also LGBTQ+, BIMPOC, and neurodivergent affirming. I value these parts of who you are and recognize that the intersections of your identity, lived experiences, and relationships shape the way you experience the world and our work together.

My approach blends talk therapy with somatic, body-based techniques (a little East meets West). Together, we’ll create a therapeutic path that fits you- because I don’t believe in squeezing people into a box. I’ll offer the tools, practices, and perspectives that may support your healing, and together we’ll discover what feels most aligned for your journey.

I believe your struggles are not signs that something is wrong with you- they are often meaningful responses to what you’ve experienced. Together, we’ll explore the patterns, emotions, and protective parts that have shaped you so you can move toward greater self-trust, connection, and freedom.
